Midnight: Rehoming Order Overturned After We Proved Provocation

Midnight was ordered to be rehomed after allegedly biting an 8-year-old boy. For her family, this felt like a death sentence. While the headline seemed fair to most, I saw it differently and was hired to file an appeal. My investigation revealed the boy and his friends often threw rocks at Midnight through a fence.   

On the day of the bite, the boy approached her while she was leashed and she bit his hand. With the help of an animal behaviorist, we showed Midnight’s actions were a response to past abuse. We won the appeal, and the case was dismissed.
